There has been many emails about conversion of 760 to local version.
So far, what we found out is that it can't be done.
The HWID is for the local 760 is 905. You guys can test it out.

flash your 205W / 255W / 265W garmin nuvi to sg/my firmware so that you are able to use the junction view features. why pay more to the local distributor when you can get a set from amazon.com and convert it to local firmware. best is the pre-loaded maps inside are still usable!

Use Garmin Updater, success to load the Sgmy v2.40 firmware into Nuvi 760 Taiwan version.
everything is OK. Lane assist & junction view show when simulator with CNNT SG/MY v4.02
No only Nuvi 760 can do,
ReplyDeleteNow Nuvi 205W also can convert it To Nuvi 2W series, then convert again to SgMy firmware, and finally success to make Nuvi 205W US or Taiwan version to use full feature of SgMY firmware. Now my Nuvi205W taiwan can display SgMy JCV. enjoy everybody.

ReplyDeleteYes, Nuvi 205W has already succeed to do. One of my friend has already post the step at www.malfreemaps.com. please refer there. for Nuvi 760, only succeed on taiwan version, but ROM checksum failed. Need to check it out. US version still under in progess.

ReplyDeleteThis quide is for mainboard version S2 and S3 ONLY !!! This does not work with mainboard version S4, you'll end with white screen !!!!! And USB periodically restarted after connect to PC USB port. !!!!! PERSONAL EXPERIENCE
